About Marcus J. Salter

Marcus J. Salter has over 20 years of experience as an At- Risk Youth Counselor and Youth Outreach Worker, before entering the field of homeless prevention in 2007.These positions have created an opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness while moving them successfully into affordable Housing.

Marcus has been employed with Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio since 2017 as a Housing Stability Specialist with an emphasis on Eviction Prevention. In 2019 He joined the Board of Directors of the Columbus Coalition for the Homeless to serve in the guidance of the organization to educate, advocate & empowerment to fight against homelessness.

 

Founded in 2020 Keys to Successful Housing LLC a program designed to assist Young Adults (16-24) gain an understanding of housing expectations and resources for maintaining a positive housing experience.

Marcus is well respected throughout the Housing community of Columbus Ohio and has been recognized with numerous awards from his colleagues & constituents.

 

In 2010 Housing Hero Award (Community Shelter Board), 2018 Community Leadership Award (Franklin County Children’s Services) and 2019 In The Trenches Award (Columbus Coalition for The Homeless) – Marcus is proud to be of service to his community.
